Susan M. Lewis, DVM - Hospital Director

Dr. Susan Lewis A general practitioner at Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital since 2001, Dr. Susan Lewis is a Rochester native and first worked at the hospital as a kennel attendant and animal care attendant from 1988 to 1998.

She attended SUNY at Geneseo and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1994. Dr. Lewis continued her education at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Dr. Lewis achieved the title of Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in August 2010, making her a certified animal rehabilitator.

Small animal medicine, sports medicine, Greyhound medicine and general exotics medicine/wellness care are among her many professional interests. She is a member of the American Canine Sports Medicine Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Genessee Valley Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Lewis' animal companions include Rasta, a mixed-breed dog she adopted while attending Ross University in St. Kitts; Haille, a Greyhound from Oklahoma, and two cats, Lia (also from St. Kitts) and Simon. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling (especially to the Caribbean), gardening, baking, and spending time with friends and family. She especially likes going out on hikes with her dogs and her husband, Kevin Lewis. Susan and Kevin welcomed their first child Robert in March 2009.
